Timberline Lodge offers ski-to-door access and is the only ski area in the United States open ten months of the year, with exclusive access to summer skiing on Palmer Snowfield. The on-site Freestyle Training Center serves all abilities, from beginners to elite athletes. A fitness center, outdoor swimming pool heated to 32 °C, and a hot tub the size of a standard swimming pool are available for guests, along with saunas and a game room with shuffleboard and ping pong.

Rooms & Rustic Comfort

Guest rooms feature original handcrafted furnishings from the 1930s, a TV with cable or satellite channels, and a private bathroom with shower. Rooms are small and historic, with no air conditioning; complimentary earplugs are provided due to thin walls. Mountain-view rooms and fireplace rooms are available, and the hotel is pet-friendly for travelers with dogs.

Location & Access

Timberline Lodge sits at 1829 m within Mt. Hood National Forest, with direct access to the Pacific Crest Trail for hiking. A complimentary shuttle service runs between the lodge and Government Camp village during winter for overnight guests. The Mt. Hood Express public transit bus stops at Timberline's Ski Lodge year-round, excluding certain holidays.

On-Site Dining & Bars

Three restaurant options are available: the Cascade Dining Room offers fine dining with a focus on local ingredients, Ram's Head Bar serves casual fare like chili and mac and cheese, and the seasonal Blue Ox Bar features handcrafted pizzas with hot honey. A complimentary continental breakfast of coffee, cereal, and pastries is provided for guests each morning. The bar at Ram's Head also offers zero-proof beverages and a varied wine list.

Family & Training Activities

The hotel provides a ski school for first-time skiers and a ski equipment rental shop on site. Kids can enjoy the game room and outdoor pool, while parents use the business center or attend a free U.S. Forest Service tour of the lodge's history. The Freestyle Training Center offers programs for all ages, making this a popular spot for families and aspiring athletes.
